THIS IS A TEST PROGRAM CURRENTLY RUNNING THROUGH THE END OF THE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES. IF WELL RECEIVED, IT MAY CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
BE SURE TO READ FULL INSTRUCTIONS!
There are 2 aspects to this program
1. Paint in the Park
2. Art Market
YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN ONE OR BOTH
1. Paint in the Park (outside in Shanley Park/Houston Park):
LGAA Member Artist under the LGAA Paint in the Park & Art Market program may setup anywhere throughout the park both city park (Houston Park) or Shanley Park without a City of Granbury Solicitor Permit, however, they must adhere to the following:
- The agreement is that artists may participate without an individual City of Granbury Solicitor permit provided they remain within the park area, designated as the area within the Houston Park & Shanley Park area called the “Park Area” regardless of city ownership since the line are not marked or well known. The important part is our members will NOT be leaving the park area, nor will they be soliciting door to door. If a member wishes to move outside of the “Park Area” then they must follow the process of obtaining their own individual permit and pay the city the $25 for a 3-month permit, and LGAA is not involved in any sales transaction of art for this artist.
- For identification purposes, participating LGAA member artists will wear an LGAA Paint & Art Market Artist Badge.
- Each artist will be allowed to have a card table sized table OR one metal standing display no wider than 24” (preferably in black). Note a card table or smaller is the MAXIMUM size allowed in the park. Our goal is to create an enjoyable experience for visitors while maintaining an attractive and aesthetically pleasing park environment.
- Even if also selling work in the studio art market, artists are encouraged to have a few samples with them on their card table or metal display.
- Members of the public who stop and visit with the artists should be encouraged to also visit the Shanley House Gallery-Home of LGAA, where they can view additional original artwork available for purchase in the Art Market studio and see the current show on display.
2. Art Market (in the Shanley House studio):
NOTE: STUDIO MAY NOT ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE IF ANOTHER EVENT IS SCHEDULED TO USE THE STUDIO.
Art Market Studio unavailable June 27th due to Gogh To Camp Kids Summer Art Camp Red Carpet Reception. Paint in the Park artists can still sell their work and have it processed through the LGAA, though.
